What are we building?
We are building a brand new state of the art facility for our children.
Why are we building it?
We have been rapidly growing in our children's ministry and have maxed out our existing space. Additional growth is anticipated.
When will we occupy the new building?
If things go according the architect's timeline, we could possibly occupy by the end of 2010.
How much will the new facility cost?
$2.4 million
How will we pay for it?
Expenses for the Development and Planning stage that is presently underway are being met through our Building Fund. We hope to raise a substantial portion of construction costs through a "Capital Stewardship Campaign" and the balance will be borrowed through a lending institution.
What is a Capital Stewardship campaign?
A Capital Stewardship Campaign is a church project that seeks pledged donations from members of the congregation to be used in paying for a major construction project; in our case, a new children's facility.
How much money are we hoping to raise through the Capital Stewardship Campaign?
We should raise between 2 and 3 times our annual budget. Our budget for 2009 is $676,000.
Will I be pressured to make a pledge?
No. Participation in the campaign and how much you will give will be entirely up to you. All members and guests will be given the opportunity to contribute if they wish to do so.
How may I prepare to Participate?
Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer. Read Scripture passages
that read about stewardship and giving, such as: 1 Corinthians 16:2, Proverbs 11:25, Proverbs 3:5-9. 2 Corinthians 8:7, Acts 20:35, Luke 6:38, and Psalm 116:12.
How long will my commitment be?
Your are asked to make a 3 year commitment.
If I can't give a large amount, does my pledge really matter?
Absolutely! All pledges matter, regardless of the amount, because as we all participate according to our ability, God multiplies our giving!
When are we expected to give the amount pledged?
Pledge cards will be turned in on our Commitment Sunday and pledges will begin to be received shortly thereafter.
What forms of contribution will be accepted?
Contributions can be made by cash, check, or online giving through our website.
Other forms of contributions can include the transference of title to marketable stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.
May I update my commitment after Commitment Sunday?
Yes. You may update your commitment at any time.
Do you have to be a church member to participate in the campaign?
No. Participating in the campaign is personal choice for each of us and anyone may contribute to God's work in our church.
